This tag was created by Lost in a Story, but I found it on Beaucoup Books. Basically it helps you go through your TBR, and also gives you blog post ideas! I enjoyed reading it on Jess’s blog, so I figured I’d give it a go.
So as I go through I’ll talk about the books, why I added them to my GoodReads TBR, and decide whether to keep them or remove them.
Let’s go through my TBR and hopefully remove some of my stress! at the same time!
The Seeker (The Host #2) – Stephanie Meyer
I really loved The Host, and I read that around the time I first started GoodReads. The second book is on the fence and probably not going to happen…so I’ll get rid of it. But I’m still hopeful!
Midnight Sun – Stephanie Meyer
As I said, this was the time I was into Stephanie Meyer. I would be interested in Midnight Sun…but I’m taking it off my TBR. For now.
Zenith – Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings
I’m interested in this book, because I’ve heard rumors of space pirates, and a booktuber co-wrote it so I’m interested. Though I’m not 100% sure the actual storyline is up my alley.
The Darkest Minds – Alexandra Bracken
Hmm…I’ll keep it, for now, and only because I have the physical copy on my shelf. I see so many people talking about this book, so I want to start it, but I’m not super into dystopian anymore.
Verdict: Keep (for now)
Our Dark Duet – Victoria Shwab
I’m totally keeping this one! I loved Our Savage Song, I just haven’t gotten around to buying this one yet.
Also, a lot of people are saying it emotionally wrecked them…and I don’t want my babies to die.
The Traitor’s Kiss – Erin Beaty
I really like the cover, and it seems like something I’d like. A good fantasy, and not too long. I’ve seen it in the book store – I just keep picking other books up instead of this one…
The Beast – Lindsay Mead
Another Beauty and the Beast retelling, so I debated getting rid of it…but then it mentioned demons, and I’m a sucker for demons. Well, certain kinds. Seems like I’d like it.
Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo
I’m keeping this one – I’ve been meaning to read it all year, but I’m waiting until I can buy the new editions. I have this one on my shelf.
The Dazzling Heights – Katharine McGee
I read the first book last year, and I liked the mystery…but I had big problems with the underage drinking\drugs, the fact that every person was a horrible human being and totally “typical” teenagers and the fact that every parent in this book was incompetent. And there were, like, six sets of parents and they all sucked.
But. I want to know how it ends for the one person I like. Because she deserves a happy ever after. Ugh.
Verdict: Keep, dammit
The Young Elites – Marie Lu
I don’t really know anything about this book, but I know that it’s a fantasy and that I like Marie Lu as an author.
Total books on my TBR: 170
So what did you think? Should I reconsider any of these books? Are you also debating reading any of these? Let me know in the comments!
