Hello Book Ravens!
Let’s be honest: we all have moments (or days, or weeks) when we want to live somewhere else.
Preferably somewhere where wearing cloaks is socially acceptable and you can have a pet dragon.
Now, obviously not all fictional worlds are ideal (*cough* Panem) , but there are some that I find myself consistently imagining what it would be like to live there. So I figured I’d list them all and…hope that one day I fall through a magic portal.
This was more true when I was younger and re-read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe a million times. It isn’t as important to me now, but I would still love to see the castles and the creatures in the forest.
And Aslan, obviously.
I haven’t 100% given up hope that there is a Camp Half-Blood somewhere in Long Island, but I would love to live in a world where both CHB and Camp Jupiter exists!
Of course, this is all assuming that A) I’d be a Demi-God and B) I would live long enough to make it from Illinois to Long Island.
And I do mean Long Island – no way I’m going West to Camp Jupiter. I wouldn’t last very long with the Romans.
The School for Good and Evil
Ever since I read the first book I’ve wanted to go to the School for Good and Evil! And the Blue Forest and Camelot and the Savage Sea – I want to go so much!
To be honest I’m not sure which school I’d be sorted into. I’m a Gryffindor, so Good, but it really depends on the day.*
*of course I’m emotionally stable. Don’t question me.
Luna \ The Lunar Chronicles Earth
I love the futuristic world of The Lunar Chronicles – and I’m really interested in Luna. Especially after the fourth book. I’d love exploring, especially if it means I get to see the Rampion!
I’ll probably make a pt. 2 to this post, simply because I’m always reading…and I guarantee I forgot something while writing this. But these are the ones that always come to mind when I think of world building, or worlds that I love.
