Hello Book Ravens! I hope you’re having a good Monday.
For those of you who don’t know, Joce @ Write Through the Night created the Book Blogger Awards last year and it seems like a lot of fun and also a great way to find new book blogs.
Now, there were a lot of categories. I don’t have a nomination for all of them, but when a blogger jumped out at me I made sure to nominate them.
You can nominate people all throughout April, and I would highly recommend checking out the rest of the rules and participating.
Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
Tyr @ The Perks of Being A Nerd is a YA blogger and she also talks about generally nerdy things, which is pretty cool and varied. She’s been blogging for close to a year now, and her reviews \ topics are always YA themed.
Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
Brittany @ Perfectly Tolerable is one of my favorite adult book bloggers! She writes enjoyable posts, is always nice and I just generally like her.
Best Book Blogger from an Underrepresented/Minority Group
Aila @ One Way or an Author: I found her blog pretty recently and I love the way her personality comes through in her writing. Her blog set-up is easy for me to find my way around and see everything, and I find myself alwasy looking for new posts.
Note: I’ve been looking for more diverse book bloggers, especially recently! I have yet to find another pansexual book blogger, so any and all recommendations are welcome!
Tyr @ The Perks of Being A Nerd is my nominee again! Mainly because her blog is the only one I know that’s solely YA, and so I think (?) the only one that counts. I’m not sure if it was YA only or YA majority. Either way, Tyr is a pretty cool YA blogger!
Best book reviews
Savannah @ The Book Prophet has reviews that I always look forward to! They read easily and I just generally enjoy them. I know this is only for book reviews but her K-Drama reviews are AMAZING. And I don’t even watch K-Dramas!
Elizabeth @ RedGal Musings also has great reviews that I find myself anticipating. She also does mini-reviews that I never thought I would enjoy, but somehow do anyway. 🤔
The Master of Weekly Features (top 5 Wednesday, waiting on Wednesday, top 10 Tuesday, etc)
I love when Jess @ Beaucoupbooks does weekly features! They’re easy to read and yet informative. She’s actually one of the only bloggers whose weekly features I like reading.
Best Discussion Posts
Elizabeth @ RedGal Musings has amazing discussions! I always look forward to them! Generally speaking, I look forward to all her posts, but her discussions are my favorite.
Most Engaged in the Community
Cait @ Paper Fury again: I actually found her because I saw her comment on a bunch of different blogs, and also she’s everywhere on Instagram. So I would definitely call her one of the most engaged people in the community.
Best personality / friendliest member of the community
Tyr @ The Perks of Being A Nerd obviously! She’s a close friend of mine, and she is definitely one of the friendliest people I know. Especially for a Slytherin 😉
Mich @ A Bibliophile’s Book Blog is just the sweetest! She’s been so kind since I joined the book community, and I definitely think she’s one of the friendliest people I’ve met!
Best New Book Blogger (created blog after July 2017)
Lexi @ Ultimate Page Turner is the only blogger I know who just started recently, and I’m anticipating when she starts blogging more! She has a beautiful bookstagram feed and I think her blog posts will be similar.
Best Overall Book Blogger
This is so hard! And, of course, DISCLAIMER: I obviously like a lot of bloggers. Narrowing it down isn’t easy! I mean, I’m a bibliophile; if you talk about any books, in any form, I appreciate you and what you’re doing. But I do have a few blogs that I’ve been going back to, especially this year, and here they are:
Elizabeth @ RedGal Musings
Savannah @ The Book Prophet
Cait @ Paperfury
Those are my nominees for the Book Blogger Awards 2018! Thanks to Joce for creating this in the first place, it’s a very cool idea, and of course good luck to those of you who have been nominated!
For those of you who weren’t, remember: YOU ARE AWESOME! Your reviews are still cool, your discussions are still enjoyable and as long as you’re happy, you’re doing good.
Have a delightfully thoughtful day, Book Ravens ❥
