It’s been a minute and a half since I did a book tag!
I decided to do this one because I always talk about how I dislike contemporary books, but I never really talk about my favorite genre? Well, to ME I never really talk about it. So this is perfect for a casual Sunday tag!
Also, I’ve never seen anyone do this and it seemed like a lot of fun.

1. What is your favorite genre?
Fantasy all the way! High fantasy, magic-in-the-real-world fantasy – basically anything with magic or otherworldly elements.
Magical worlds are just soo cool TBH. And all the different political and magic systems? Perfect! Of course, I have very specific taste when it comes to fantasy. I don’t like half-baked worlds or bland characters.
2. Who is your favorite author from that genre?
Rick Riordan started my love for this genre with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! While not classically fantasy I love the magic and mythology elements!
As far as the traditional fantasy I’d say Mary E. Pearson, author of The Remnant Chronicles.
3. What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?
Look. The real world has problems. And sometimes it’s a lot to handle. Often times it leaves you hating everything and thinking the world is a horrible place (it’s not BTW. Don’t base your judgments on Twitter). I like other worlds with different problems and heroes and villains and magic.
Also, I want a dragon. And I only get that in a fictional world, so it is what it is.
4. What is the book that started your love for that genre?
As I said, Percy Jackson was the big one when I was about 10. I also learned to read while listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks, so I think that contributed when I was younger.
Plus I watched a lot of Disney\Dreamworks\Pixar movies like The Lion King when I was little and that may have helped the magic\fantasy obsession a bit.
Also! I’m just remembering that I really loved Grimms Fairy Tales when I was younger, before my mythology obsession.
lol, the question was ONE BOOK…
5. If you had to recommend at least one book from your favorite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading that genre, what book would you choose and why?
I have a few:
1- Percy Jackson obvs.
2- Fullmetal Alchemist. It’s a manga (graphic novel), so if you don’t read much it’ll be easy, and it has amazing magic elements! It’s also has a really good storyline and characters. #saddestcharacterdeathever
3- Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles #1)
6. Why do you read?
I kind of already said that above, but I like escaping reality. Plus I just like stories, whether or not it’s about a hero or a villain. I feel like I should have a deeper answer for that, but that’s genuinely what comes to mind first!

What’s your chosen genre? The one that you prefer over ALL the others! I liked this tag, though some of the questions felt like repeats?
That, or I just said mentioned Percy Jackson too many times
Have a good Sunday!
