There are a lot of good TV shows.
But there’s very few great shows, and even less flawless shows. Guess which category ATLA falls into.
(hint: the last one)
For those who don’t know, I love the The Last Airbender, and I’ve been wanting to do this tag for a long time
but I’m a procrastinator and now I am! Also, like, feel free to answer the questions along with me and comment them below!
Katara and Sokka- Best sibling relationship.
Yue: Favorite Starcrossed Lovers
I don’t know the technical definition of star-crossed lovers, so idk. I always go to Romeo and Juliet, but tbh, that’s the one Shakespeare play that I couldn’t care less about.
Blood bending: a book with a disturbing concept
I mean, Hunger Games is the definition of this 😂
Toph – A character who’s strength surprised you/or surprised the other characters in the book
Ugh. Rant time.
This rarely happens because all characters are “strong female characters”. Which sounds good, but it means everyone follows these rules:
- crying is weakness
- the only true strength is physical strength
- they’re never truly emotionally or mentally weak, unless it furthers the love story
It’s so typical (and tbh, unrealistic and borderline toxic masculinity) that nobody’s strength ever surprises me. Because no one is ever truly weak.
Sorry guys 😂 gotta speak my truth.
The Tales of Ba Sing Se – best short story/poetry collection
I don’t read a lot of these. I liked Gabbie Hanna’s poetry book, as background noise, but I didn’t relate to it or anything (poetry isn’t really my thing though).
I liked Because You Love to Hate Me a lot. I still read those stories from time to time!
Kioshi Warriors- Best warrior character
Can I say my own character? Because I love them 😂 But otherwise I don’t think I have one. Back to the rant, when every character is stereotypically “strong”, it’s hard to pick out a warrior who I really see as a true fighter.
Zuko- Best redemption arc/a redemption arc that should have happened
I don’t think I have one. No one truly walks the morally grey line in YA, I feel like maybe Boromir from Lord of the Rings. Because the Hobbits always saw him as the villain, and it makes me sad to think about because he was a good man.
Iroh- Wisest character
No one is wiser than Iroh.
But Chiron from Percy Jackson & the Olympians is pretty wise. And Gandalf is probably up there too.
Azula: Best downfall
I was pretty damn happy when a certain villain from Shadow & Bone was defeated, *not gonna lie*
Appa- Favorite fictional animal
Festus from Heroes of Olympus! (see below) Appa and Mom are also favorites, but they’re automatically disqualified 😂
Aang: Purest cinnamon roll
I have never, never, read a character as much of a cinnamon roll as Aang 💕 So Aang is always my answer.
Avatar State: A stubborn character/a character that struggles with letting go
Maybe Grey from Fairy Tail? I don’t know a lot of character’s that have this as one of their main character flaws, but the fact that Grey has his traumas thrown in his face all the time kind of makes it difficult for him 😅
Talk Avatar with me! Favorite character? How would you answer some of these questions?
