Synopsis: Chasing down an uncertain future, Cassia makes her way to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky–taken by Society to his certain death–only to find that he has escaped into the majestic, but treacherous, canyons. On this wild frontier are glimmers of a different life . . . and the enthralling promise of rebellion. But even as Cassia sacrifices everything to reunite with Ky, ingenious surprises from Xander may change the game. On the edge of Society, nothing is as expected, and crosses and double crosses make Cassia’s path more twisted than ever.
Sequel to: Matched | Review
If you aren’t a fan of romance, this isn’t the book for you. It’s one of the main focuses, so chances are, you won’t like it.
I, however, did like it. The POV (Point-Of-View) switches between Cassia and Ky, so you get more of both characters. They are both very intent on finding each other, but not in the annoying way (thankfully).
The side characters that come in are just amazing. I fell in love with them right away, and I feel like they were very well written.
One thing I didn’t like though: in my review of Matched, I mentioned that I liked how the love triangle was done. Cassia is very clear on what she wants, so I was happy with that as a reader.
That actually changes in this book. I feel like she becomes a little more ‘wishy-washy’, so I had to take rating down a notch, from 4.5/5 to 4/5. Not a huge difference, but something that did get under my skin.
Overall, Crossed was very well written, and I’m excited to read the next book.
