Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.

Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

I can honestly say, I have no idea where to start. Heartless was my most anticipated read of 2016, and it didn’t let me down one bit!

I loved every part of this book, even if it did make my heart hurt 😣

The world is amazing. The PERFECT Alice In Wonderland setting – the world, the characters, even quotes from the original; everything was perfect!

And speaking of characters – I love all of them! They were all unique, and some of their names were awfully clever.

For example (no spoilers! Promise!) We all know Hair from AIW, right? Remember, at the tea party? Crazy rabbit? Right, him.

His name in this book, is Haigha. Weird, I know. Say it out loud, and then come back to me.

Seeing it? Seeing it?

I found that my thought process almost mimicked Catherine’s. Not necessarily my emotions and feelings, but the way I thought, and the way I saw her progression was much how she viewed it.

Whereas normally I would be mad at a character who took this turn, in this case I saw it as justified, because I saw it as she did.

I loved it. There isn’t much more to say beyond that. I expected a lot, and it didn’t let me down ❤️🃏

Overall Thoughts

No disappointment! Any Wonderland fan will love this!
