I was lent this by a friend (thank you Rose!) and I really enjoyed it!
As far as Paranormal books go, it’s typically a romance-based genre.
And not that this story doesn’t have romance – but there’s other notes too. Other things are going on in Ivy’s life. She has a brother, and a mother, a step-dad, and now a new step-brother. Not only that – later, more towards the middle\end, there’s a murder mystery going on!
Basically, the storyline is diverse, and not completely romance-based.
Ivy is a main character I liked more than I thought I would. I found I viewed her more as someone to be protected – there were times where she was accused of something, or someone came up to her and started dissing her, and I wanted to step in and tell them off. I literally yelled at the book because I was so mad that people were talking to her this way.
The side characters were enjoyable as well – Lacey and Beth and Will – and I found I wanted to see more of them as each chapter went by.
I recently found out that there are actually two more books in the series, and I think I’m going to read them. This book ends fine, so if you only want to read this one, that’s okay, but I really want to see where it goes.
